Webtoon to anime questions

Can I convert a webtoon to anime with ScreenWeaver today?
Not directly yet. Webtoon import is in development and not available today. You can already adapt your episode as a screenplay and let ScreenWeaver generate the anime storyboard from it.
When will webtoon import be available?
We have not announced a date. Create a free account on app.screenweaver.ai: it puts you on the waitlist, and you will be among the first to try it.
Do I need the rights to the webtoon?
Yes. Adapt a webtoon you created, or one you hold the adaptation rights for. Your ScreenWeaver projects are private and you own your work.
How does a vertical webtoon become a 16:9 anime?
Each panel is reframed. Most dialogue panels are simply cropped to the face or the action. Tall panels become a camera move, or are split into two shots. You pick framing, angle, movement and duration for every shot.
Can I keep the vertical format?
Yes. ScreenWeaver boards in 16:9 or 9:16. Vertical suits readers who already follow your webtoon on their phone.
Will my characters stay on model?
That is the point of the reference sheets. Characters, locations and references carry from shot to shot, so your hero in shot 200 still looks like your hero in shot 1.
How much does it cost?
Writing is free on the Screenwriter plan, forever. The storyboard comes with Storyboard Beta at $9.99 a month. Video generation comes with the Filmmaker plan, targeted for 30 September 2026, price not announced yet.
Has ScreenWeaver been used on real anime?
Yes. Voidborn, an animated short, won 1st Place Silver at the Mondial Chroma Awards. Lost Garden, an animated series pilot, was a finalist at the AI London Festival. Both were made with ScreenWeaver.
