FAQ

Questions about ScreenWeaver

How a film gets made in ScreenWeaver, what costs credits, and what stays yours.

Making a film

Does ScreenWeaver make the film for me?
No. You write or import the screenplay, break it into shots, approve the storyboard, then generate each shot in Production. The assistant and the MCP help at every step, and you decide what stays.
What is the path from script to film?
Three tabs, in this order. Script holds the screenplay. In Storyboard, Auto-generate and Run all draw your frames. In Production, you add a pipeline to each scene with Add pipeline, then generate the video.
How do I import a script I already have?
Ask the assistant: click the paperclip, attach the file and write “Import this script”. The MCP does the same from Claude or ChatGPT. It reads PDF, FDX (Final Draft), Fountain, WriterDuet JSON and plain text, plus scans and photos of pages through OCR. Don't paste the script into the editor, import it.
Can I adapt a comic, a manga or a webtoon?
Yes. Import the pages through the assistant or the MCP. ScreenWeaver finds the panels by itself and creates the characters from them. That is how the webtoon Imaginarium was adapted.
How do I keep the same character from one shot to the next?
Give the character a reference: a moodboard, or a character sheet generated in Storyboard. Name the character in the action of each shot, and set the overall style in Artistic direction.
Can I reuse my characters in another project?
Yes. Duplicate the project and they come with it.
Can I edit the film in ScreenWeaver?
Yes. Scenes in Production have a Timeline node built in, where your clips line up for the cut.
Can I fix one part of a video without starting over?
Yes, with Seedance, which is built into ScreenWeaver. You retouch the part that is wrong and keep the rest.
Does ScreenWeaver do AI voices and lip sync?
Not yet. Synthetic voices and lip sync are in development. Video models that make their own sound already work: switch the video node to Audio on.

Plans and credits

What is free in ScreenWeaver?
Writing, forever, on the Screenwriter plan. To generate images and video, you need the Auteur or Studio plan.
Is there a free trial?
Not for generation. You get 20 free credits when you sign up.
How much does a shot cost?
The price shows on the generate button before every run. It depends on the model, the duration and the resolution, so there is no fixed price list.
Do unused monthly credits roll over?
No. The monthly credits of your plan don't carry over to the next month. Credit packs work differently: they never expire, and only subscribers can buy them.
What happens to my projects if I cancel?
They stay available, and your account goes back to the free Screenwriter plan. Projects are deleted after one year.
Can I buy credits or use the MCP without a subscription?
No. Both need an Auteur or Studio subscription.
Can I get a refund on credits I have used?
No. Credits you have used are not refunded.
Can I use my Higgsfield credits?
Yes. Connect your Higgsfield account and a video node can run on it instead of on ScreenWeaver credits. This works in projects on an Auteur or Studio plan.
Can I work with other people?
Yes, with the Studio plan: real-time collaboration, and a role for each person (Owner, Editor, Viewer).

Rights and privacy

Who owns what I make?
You do. Your screenplays and everything you create belong to you.
Are my projects private?
Yes. Even the ScreenWeaver team can't open them unless you give it access.
Is my work used to train AI models?
Never. Neither ScreenWeaver nor the AI models it runs train on your content.
Can I adapt a story or characters that already exist?
Only if you hold the rights. Public domain works are open to everyone, Dracula for example. Reusing characters or designs you have no rights to is not allowed.

Assistants and languages

Can I work from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes, through the ScreenWeaver MCP, from Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code. The MCP page explains the setup. It is reserved for subscribers, because the MCP runs on credits.
What languages is ScreenWeaver in?
The app is in English and French. The website and the courses are available in every language of the site.
