About ScreenWeaver

Script-first filmmaking, built in Strasbourg

ScreenWeaver is a professional screenwriting workspace that grows into storyboard, visual development, and production-ready workflows — while keeping writing free. One idea drives everything we build: the screenplay is the canonical source of truth. AI models come and go; your story shouldn't be rebuilt every time the leaderboard changes.

Why we exist

AI video made it possible to generate gorgeous shots — and easy to lose the movie. Clip-first tools turn a film into a folder of disconnected renders. ScreenWeaver takes the opposite path: write in a real screenwriting environment, board every scene from the script, and generate motion from beats the story has already earned. Clips are temporal hypotheses; the screenplay is the contract.

That's why writing on ScreenWeaver is free, exports stay open (PDF and Final Draft FDX), and the platform is model-agnostic across Seedance, Veo, Sora, Kling, and whatever comes next.

Who we are

ScreenWeaver is built by Outerframe Studio, a French company (SAS) based in Strasbourg, founded by Frank Houbre, who serves as President and publication director. We're a small, product-obsessed team of filmmakers and engineers — supported by the ElevenLabs Startup Grants program.

We also publish daily craft guides, tool comparisons, and free screenwriting tools used by writers, students, and production teams.
