Available today in ScreenWeaver: free screenwriting, and a storyboard generated from your screenplay with the Auteur plan, $39.99 a month.

Also available now: video generation of each shot, powered by Seedance, on the same Auteur plan. NEXMUSE names no AI tool, so the song can come from any music generator you already use.

The rules on one card

What NEXMUSE asks for.

NEXMUSE is hosted by AIART, with UBrain, Newtake, GAMSUNG SOUND and AXGO as organising partners. It is not a classic film contest. You make a song and its video, and the star must be one of the contest’s own MUSE characters.

Sources: the awards page and the FAQ of nexmuse.kr, read in Korean on 5 November 2026. We found no entry fee, no AI disclosure rule and no ceremony venue on those pages. A contest listing reproduces older rules (entry by email, files attached): the official FAQ now says the opposite, so follow nexmuse.kr.

Key dates

Seven weeks left, and the vote counts.

The audience share is frozen on 4 January 2027, one week after the deadline. A video posted early has more days to collect views and cheers than one posted on 28 December.
  1. 21 Sep 2026

    Entries opened

The official FAQ gives 21 September to 28 December 2026 as the submission window.

  2. 28 Dec 2026

    Deadline

23:59 Korean time (KST, UTC+9). After it, you can no longer edit your application or your documents.

  3. 4 Jan 2027

    Vote snapshot

Cheers on the site, YouTube views and likes are counted as of 00:00 KST. Expert review runs from 4 to 11 January.

  4. 18 Jan 2027

    First round results

Shortlisted entrants are asked for the original video file. The original audio, in WAV or MP3, comes at the final stage.

  5. 30 Jan 2027

    Final and ceremony

Final results and the award ceremony. The FAQ says the venue will be announced later on the official site.

How entries are scored

70 points of jury, 30 of audience.

NEXMUSE publishes its grid on the awards page. The song alone weighs more than the AI use, and almost a third of the score depends on people watching and cheering.
  • Musical completeness

    20%

The heaviest single criterion. A clean mix, a chorus that returns, vocals that do not warble. Spend real time on the song before the first frame.

  • Music video direction and finish

    15%

Framing, cuts on the beat, a look that holds for the whole song. A storyboard bar by bar is how you get there.

  • Creativity and originality

    15%

Twenty-four MUSE means many entries share the same faces. The idea around your MUSE is what sets you apart.

  • AI use and execution

    10%

Only 10 points. The jury looks at how well the tools serve the song, not how many tools you used.

  • Storytelling and MUSE branding

    10%

Does the video build the character? A MUSE with a clear personality, a world and a change across the song scores here.

  • Cheers on the NEXMUSE site

    15%

The site’s ‘응원해요’ button. The FAQ says abnormal cheering can be excluded, so ask real fans, not bots.

  • YouTube views and likes

    15%

Your video must be public on YouTube. Views and likes are counted once, on 4 January 2027, not in real time.

The expert part comes first in our list because it is 70 of the 100 points. A strong audience cannot save a weak song, but it can split two good ones.

The two divisions

Pick your division by age.

The FAQ is clear: under 19 enter the student division, 19 and over the general one. You cannot enter both, and a team cannot mix adults and minors.
  • 01

    General division (19 and over)

Grand Prize ₩10,000,000, Gold ₩3,000,000, Silver ₩1,000,000, three Bronze at ₩300,000 and ten Merit at ₩100,000. Sixteen winners.

This is where the money is. Aim for a song that could be released, since the official benefits include professional arrangement and an official music release.

  • 02

    Student division (under 19)

Grand Prize ₩2,000,000, Gold ₩1,000,000, Silver ₩500,000, three Bronze at ₩200,000 and ten Merit at ₩100,000. Sixteen winners.

Sixteen prizes for a younger field. A legal guardian consent form is part of the documents, so get it signed in the first week.

From script to screen

Voidborn: a character built shot by shot.

Voidborn, episode 0, the anime action episode the ScreenWeaver team made with Seedance, shows the skill NEXMUSE rewards most in its branding criterion: one character who keeps the same face, costume and attitude across every shot, cut to a strong rhythm.

Logline. Every seven years, the Rift opens and swallows the world’s dreams. A swordsman sworn to a blind seer escorts her through its levels, toward a promise they made to a girl left behind.

Screenplay · episode 0 · English subtitles

EXT. RUINS OF THE FIRST LEVEL - NIGHT

Broken towers under a violet sky. SIM, a swordsman in a black cloak, walks beside LADY MARIA, blindfolded, all in white.

SIM

Tell me, Maria... do you think Leia believes we are still alive?

MARIA

We made a promise... the two of us.

A line of white automatons rises from the ruins.

AUTOMATON

The Rift will wait for no one.

SIM

What are machines doing at this level?

One automaton steps forward. Its face is blank.

AUTOMATON

We must return to the surface.

Its eyes ignite red.

SIM

I am Sim, guardian of Lady Maria... and I will proceed with your execution.

Steel meets steel. Lightning runs down the blade.

This is Voidborn, episode 0, 13 minutes long, which took 1st Place Silver and 2nd Place Dreamina at the Mondial Chroma Awards and an award at the Seoul International AI Film Festival. Swap the swordsman for your MUSE and the clash for a chorus: the same reference sheet keeps the face stable for three minutes. The player starts at the ruins, around 7 min in.

The script

A 3 minute music video in five movements.

The rule is 2 to 4 minutes. Three minutes is a safe middle, about 50 shots at 3 to 4 seconds each.
  1. 0:00 to 0:15

    Meet the MUSE

One image that says who your MUSE is. It comes back, changed, at the end.

  2. 0:15 to 1:00

    Verse one

The MUSE in a world. Wider frames, slower cuts, one clear situation.

  3. 1:00 to 1:50

    The chorus

The video opens up: choreography, color, scale. This is the shot people will share.

  4. 1:50 to 2:30

    The bridge

The turn. Something changes for the MUSE, and the rhythm drops for a moment.

  5. 2:30 to 3:00

    Final chorus

The biggest image, then the opening image again, transformed.

Lock the song first, then storyboard on its bars. Generate each shot a little longer than its slot so the edit can land on the beat.

Disqualification traps

Seven ways to lose your entry.

Most traps come from the YouTube rules and the MUSE rules, which a normal film contest does not have.
  • An unlisted video

The FAQ says the YouTube video must be Public. Unlisted or private links are not accepted.

  • No MUSE, or a MUSE with a new face

At least one of the 24 official MUSE must be in the work, as the main artist. Costume and hair are free, but the face identity must stay.

  • A real idol

NEXMUSE is not a contest for real idols. Cloning anyone’s face or voice with AI without permission is not allowed.

  • Human-made music or footage

The rule is video and audio made 100% with generative AI. A recorded vocal or a filmed shot breaks that principle.

  • Editing after submitting

Once sent, the video and its link cannot be replaced or re-uploaded. Submit the final cut, not a draft.

  • The wrong length

Under 2 minutes or over 4 minutes is outside the rules. Check the exported file, not the timeline.

  • Fake cheers

Abnormal cheering on the site can be excluded from the count. Bought views put the whole 30% at risk.

Why ScreenWeaver

A MUSE needs a storyboard, not luck.

NEXMUSE asks for a character, a song and a video that hold together. ScreenWeaver puts the screenplay, the storyboard and the footage in one connected project.
  • One reference for your MUSE

Approve the MUSE’s reference once, and it follows every shot. That is exactly the face identity rule.

  • A frame for every bar

The storyboard is generated from your screenplay, each frame tied to a moment of the song.

  • 16:9 or 9:16 from one project

NEXMUSE accepts both ratios. ScreenWeaver handles vertical as well as widescreen.

  • Footage powered by Seedance

Generate the shots with Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 on the Auteur plan, $39.99 a month. Writing is free, today.

Real productions

International festival-recognized films have been written and produced with ScreenWeaver.

ScreenWeaver is already being used as a creative workspace for real AI film productions, from animated shorts to short films nominated and awarded by international festivals.
