He said “I missed you” twice. Now he only asks if she still has the umbrella. The previous version is in History if you prefer it.

Why connect

Claude writes well. Your script needs a home.

On its own, Claude gives you text in a chat. With ScreenWeaver connected, the same work goes into your screenplay, where it stays formatted, versioned and linked to your storyboard.

Claude can still brainstorm and draft on its own. The connector changes where the result lives.

Connect in two minutes

Add ScreenWeaver to Claude

Prompts to try

Six things to ask Claude today

Copy a prompt, change the project and scene names, and send it with ScreenWeaver turned on.
  • Import a draft

Import the Fountain script I’m pasting into my project The Yellow Umbrella. Show me the preview first and ask me about any character name that looks like one I already have.

  • Move a PDF script in

Here is my script as a PDF. Write it into my ScreenWeaver project scene by scene, with proper scene headings, character cues and dialogue.

  • Shot list from a scene

Read scene 4 and create the storyboard shots for a one-camera, handheld shoot. Keep each shot under six seconds.

  • Subtext pass

Read scene 7. Show me the lines where the characters say exactly what they feel, then propose a version with more subtext. Wait for my go before you edit.

  • Continuity check

Search the script for every mention of the umbrella. Tell me which scenes it appears in, and where it should appear but doesn’t.

  • Episode overview

Give me the outline of episode 2: scenes in order, number of shots per scene, and the scenes that have no shots yet.

Script

Claude’s scenes arrive formatted

Scene headings, action, cues, parentheticals and dialogue keep their types. Character names and places link to your story elements, and missing ones are created for you.
  • Import preview before anything is written
  • Similar names flagged, like TOBY and TOBIAS
  • Version History before each change

Storyboard

Then the scene becomes shots

Ask Claude for coverage. It reads the scene and creates the shots in order, with action, framing, camera movement and duration, ready for your storyboard work in ScreenWeaver.
  • Shots tied to their scene
  • Continuous shots chained together
  • Collaborators see every change live

FAQ

Screenwriting with Claude

Can Claude write a screenplay?
Claude can draft, rewrite and critique scenes. With ScreenWeaver connected, it writes them straight into a real screenplay, in industry format, instead of leaving you text to copy and paste.
Do I need a paid Claude plan?
No. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan. The Free plan allows one custom connector, which is enough for ScreenWeaver.
Does it cost ScreenWeaver credits?
Access to the MCP is reserved for accounts with credits, included in the Auteur and Studio plans. Using the tools spends nothing: they read and write your script and shot list, and none of them consumes credits.
Will Claude change my script without asking?
Claude edits what you ask it to edit. Deleting lines or replacing the whole script needs your explicit confirmation, and the version before every change is saved in History.
Can Claude generate my storyboard images?
Not through the connector yet. Claude can create and adjust the shots: action, framing, camera, duration. Image and video generation stay in the ScreenWeaver app for now.
What does ScreenWeaver record about my conversation?
ScreenWeaver logs which tool was called and when, never your prompts or your script text. What Claude keeps from the conversation depends on your Claude settings.
Who owns the script?
You do. Your projects are private to you and the people you share them with, and you can disconnect Claude at any time in Connected apps.
