0:04You have a structure and a voice. Now let's have the assistant draft scenes directly in the script and then do what every screenwriter does, rewrite.
0:15Be precise about where and how. Here's the request. Under the beat, the engine dies. Write the scene. Exterior, the ferry deck, night. The fog swallows the shore. The engine dies. Elias fails to restart it. Maya fixes it by hitting it twice in the same spot. Half a page. Two short lines of dialogue at most. Use the names Elias and Maya.
0:43Watch the script fill in. A scene heading, action lines, character cues and dialogue, all in the right format, in the right place. Now the real work starts. Three passes.
0:58First pass, the story. Does the scene change something? Here, yes. Elias stares at her. She knows his trick. But the assistant added a line where Maya explains how she learned it. Cut it. The mystery is the point.
1:17Second pass, the camera. Read every action line and ask, can we film this? The assistant wrote, Elias feels a strange familiarity. That's a feeling. We replaced it with, Elias stares at her. Three words. One image.
1:35Third pass, the dialogue. Select a line in your head, quote it to the assistant, and ask for something shorter, colder, or funnier. Wake up, old girl. Four words. And we hear her father in them. Which is exactly the point.
1:52Two more requests that save hours. Rename a character everywhere. For example, rename Elias to Elliot in every scene. And every cue changes in one go. Then check the story elements so the old name doesn't linger there. And change the tone of a whole scene. Rewrite the cabin scene so it's more tense. Keep the same events. Then compare. Even if you don't keep the rewrite, it shows you options you hadn't seen.
2:22And if a change goes wrong, undo works as usual. And every change the assistant makes is saved as a checkpoint in the version history, in the sidebar. You can open it, look at an earlier version, and restore it. Nothing the AI does is ever final.
2:40Your exercise. Have the assistant draft one scene of your story. Do the three passes, story, camera, dialogue, and restore an earlier version at least once, just to know how. Next, importing a script you've already written.
